Tas Heel Curriculum - Grade 8

The Tas-Heel Series is a renowned Islamic curriculum developed by the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa. Designed specifically for English-speaking students, this comprehensive 12-grade program makes learning Islam "easy" without sacrificing depth. By integrating essential knowledge—from theology and history to daily etiquette—the series provides a balanced foundation that grows with the child, ensuring they develop a strong Muslim identity rooted in authentic scholarship.

Grade 8 completes the study of the primary Caliphate and introduces students (ages 13–14) to the complexities of a global Muslim identity. The material is designed to foster critical thinking and a sense of historical continuity.

Key Learning Modules for Grade 8:

• Aqaa’id (Beliefs): Addresses Contemporary Challenges to faith and reinforces the concept of Finality of Prophethood (Khatm-e-Nubuwwat).

• Fiqh (Practice): Covers the laws of Traveler’s Prayer (Musafir) and the specific rules regarding the Friday Prayer (Jumu'ah) and Eid prayers.

• Akhlaaq (Manners): Emphasizes Civic Duty, honesty in dealings, and the Islamic stance on social justice and racial equality.

• Tareekh (History): Focuses on the lives of Uthman (RA) and Ali (RA), the challenges they faced, and the preservation of unity within the Ummah.

• Du'as & Hadith: Includes comprehensive Du'as from the Quran and Ahadith regarding the importance of justice and avoiding oppression.
