Tas Heel Curriculum - Grade 4

The Tas-Heel Series is a renowned Islamic curriculum developed by the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa. Designed specifically for English-speaking students, this comprehensive 12-grade program makes learning Islam "easy" without sacrificing depth. By integrating essential knowledge—from theology and history to daily etiquette—the series provides a balanced foundation that grows with the child, ensuring they develop a strong Muslim identity rooted in authentic scholarship.

In Grade 4, the curriculum introduces more "applied" Islamic knowledge. Students (typically ages 9–10) move into a phase of learning that connects historical events to modern-day obligations, specifically focusing on the establishment of the first Muslim community and the broader understanding of all Prophets sent by Allah.

Key Learning Modules for Grade 4:

• Aqaa’id (Beliefs): A deeper look into the Seven Articles of Faith. It explores the purpose of our creation and the common principles shared by all Prophets from Adam (AS) to Muhammad ﷺ.
• Fiqh (Practice): Focuses on the rules of Saum (Fasting) and the Month of Ramadan. It also covers Najasah (impurities) in more detail and introduces the Sunnah prayers that accompany the daily Fard
• Akhlaaq (Manners): Centers on Social Responsibility. This includes manners when walking, behavior in the classroom, the importance of forgiving others, and caring for pets and animals.
• Tareekh (History): This grade covers the Hijrah to Madinah and the building of the first Masjid. It marks the transition from the struggle in Makkah to the birth of the Muslim community in Madinah.
• Du'as & Hadith: Includes memorizing the Du'as for fasting (Iftar and Suhoor) and short Ahadith emphasizing that "Islam is a complete way of life."
