Tas Heel Curriculum - Grade 2

The Tas-Heel Series is a renowned Islamic curriculum developed by the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa. Designed specifically for English-speaking students, this comprehensive 12-grade program makes learning Islam "easy" without sacrificing depth. By integrating essential knowledge—from theology and history to daily etiquette—the series provides a balanced foundation that grows with the child, ensuring they develop a strong Muslim identity rooted in authentic scholarship.

Building on the foundations laid in Grade 1, the Grade 2 curriculum transitions students from simple recognition to a deeper understanding of their daily religious obligations. At this level, the material introduces more structure, helping 7-year-olds connect their faith to their personal actions and routines.

Key Learning Modules for Grade 2:

• Aqaa’id (Beliefs): Expands on the Attributes of Allah and introduces the roles of the Angels and the significance of the Books of Allah.

• Fiqh (Practice): A detailed focus on the Five Pillars of Islam. Students move beyond the postures of Salah to learning the specific recitations and the conditions that make their prayer valid.

• Akhlaaq (Manners): Emphasizes "Social Manners," such as the etiquette of eating, sleeping, and visiting others, fostering a sense of community and respect.

• Tareekh (History): Covers the Prophet’s ﷺ life in Makkah, the challenges faced by the early Muslims, and the inspiring stories of the first Sahaba (Companions).

• Du'as & Hadith: Increases the repertoire of memorized supplications to include those for entering the Masjid, traveling, and seeking protection.
